Kos Culinary GreeceGreek food is considerably more diverse than what one is prone to expect after eating at a Greek Restaurant in Central Europe. Heavy dishes, laden with grilled meat, are in fact quite seldom in Greece; more common are variations of vegetables, soufflés, fish – and in moderation, meat. Many tourists will notice that dishes are often served luke warm. Equally peculiar to central European tastes is the pinch of cinnamon that is added to most dishes (eg. even beef stew or spaghetti bolognese). On hot days the typically Greek yoghurt, sweetened with honey, is a particularly refreshing local specialty. You'll find it at almost any cafe. |
