Kefalos

Perhaps it's due to the distance from Kos City(ca 45km) that the West is so rarely visited by tourists. Be that as it may, Kefalos Bay is something of a secret amongst insiders and they're unanimous in claiming that it has the most beautiful beach on the island.

Kefalos is a typical Greek village with a cluster of houses hugging the peak of a mountain. From there one has an impressive view over the Bay. Kefalos is bustling with life in the high season, but visitors have ample room due to the long and especially wide beaches.

Much of the terrain surrounding the bay is dune-like. The water is clean and clear, and any of the three major Taverns afford pleasant views out onto the sea.
